Objective

To generate consumer demand for Kate's Cakes.

What we did

The official launch of Kate's Cakes coincided with the 2006 World Cup. On the back of this, PR4 created the innovative 'World Cupcake Campaign'. We established a partnership with the sell-out Hard Rock Calling concert at Hyde Park, which saw 5,000 free samples of Kate's World Cupcakes handed out during England's quarter final game. PR4 secured further sampling opportunities at celebrity and football-related events. World Cupcake packages were delivered to all key London publishing houses.

Results

PR reached over 28 million consumers with coverage in top media such as the News of the World and BBC Radio 1. The cakes were sampled by over 50,000 people, creating a consumer buzz and generating distribution enquiries. PR activity helped to establish the previously unknown Kate's Cakes as a premium supplier of tasty, high quality cakes.
